I’ve harped on this before, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record…
Man, if you’re unemployed and struggling; you have an obligation to your family, your friends, and yourself to stay mentally, emotionally, and physically sound.Â
I was talking to a friend who’s husband has been looking for a job for some time now. He’s just letting himself go and falling into a vicious cycle of rejection and self doubt.Â
Okay, maybe that’s not you…Great.
Still, being physically fit is such a boon, and so easy to attain.
2 or 3 times a week, I jog to a playground that’s about a mile and half from home. At the park, there is a fitness area that has an incline situp bench, parallel bars, horizontal and vertical ladders, chin up bars, etc.Â
Once I get there, I do 2 circuits of incline situps, hanging leg raises, dips, and chinups. I go from one station to the next with very little rest between exercises. Again, I do 2 circuits of max reps each time. After the last one, I jog home.
For me, it’s a great way to spend 45 minutes to an hour. I get some cardio – burn a little fat, some strength building – build a little muscle, and get in some nice reflective time while jogging.Â
When I’m jogging, I have to time to think, reflect, visualize – even dream! Remember what Goethe said,
“whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it”
But before you can do, you must dream!
Find time to exercise. Find time to be healthy.
And here’s the boon…
When you are healthy and fit, your self-esteem soars.
And with a strong self-esteem and positive outlook, you proceed with confidence.
Confidence is contagious. Who knows what good things can happen…
And if not, at least you’re healthy, and that babe, is something worth having.
Plus, dropping a few lbs is always a good thing.
