This is just terrible. A comment quiped about going vegetarian.  Well, maybe not that…
But, this is one fast food joint that needs to make some fixes in a hurry…
Taco Bell “beef” pseudo-Mexican delicacies are not made with USDA ground beef. They use a gross thing called “Taco Meat Filling” as shown on their big container’s labels—which customers can’t see. The list of ingredients is gruesome:
Water, isolated oat product, salt, chili pepper, onion powder, tomato powder, oats (wheat), soy lecithin, sugar, spices, maltodextrin (a polysaccharide that is absorbed as glucose), soybean oil (anti-dusting agent), garlic powder, autolyzed yeast extract, citric acid, caramel color, cocoa powder, silicon dioxide (anti-caking agent), natural flavors, yeast, modified corn starch, natural smoke flavor, salt, sodium phosphate, less than 2% of beef broth, potassium phosphate, and potassium lactate.
All that plus 36% beef. Thirty-six percent—plus all the above making up for the other 64% of the party in your mouth.

Does this surprise anyone? What are the shortcuts that these fast food companies are taking? And are they the only ones.Â
Next time you are at MacDonald’s or Wendy’s, read through their posted ingredient lists. The first time I did, I was thinking – Isn’t there suppose to be chicken in their chicken mcnuggets?
Here’s the ingredient list for that one from Canadian website of MacDonald’s reported by Joe Schwarcz in this article,  “What McDonald’s chicken nuggets really contain“:
Chicken McNugget ingredients (from McDonald’s Canada list): Chicken meat, water, modified corn starch, salt, chicken broth powder (chicken broth, salt and natural chicken flavouring), seasoning [(vegetable oil (soybean and/or canola), extracts of rosemary, mono, di and triglycerides (from sunflower oil) and soy lecithin)]. Breaded with: water, wheat flour, yellow corn flour, modified corn starch, salt, baking powder, spices (white and black pepper, celery seed), wheat starch, whey powder, sodium aluminum phosphate, corn starch, partially hydrogenated soybean oil (manufacturing aid). Cooked in 100% vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with THBQ, citric acid and dimethypolysiloxane). Read the rest of the story here…
