Wow – here’s a cautionary tale. If you have not backup’ed your hard drive, do so immediately. My computer went belly up last night. I was sitting down to write my latest edition of my Bodylastics workout sessions when my screen went zigzag and blank.Â
I thought it might be the registry program getting infected, but the computer super geek this morning pointed it out that the laptop wasn’t even cycling on; let alone getting a chance to read the hard drive.
His initial thoughts were along the lines of a bad motherboard or some other hardware. Parts and laber could run me $700 to $800 – better off buying a new computer.
That’s what I did. I went to Costco and get a decent desktop that has – get this – 1TB of memory in the hard drive. What the heck is “TB?”
Hard to believe when I bought my first laptop, it was an IBM thinkpad with a 10″ black and white screen I spent around $2100 on that sucker. This was back in 1994. Wow.
Anyways, I keep hearing about these online services that automatic backup all the data for 10 bucks a month or so. I’ll have to look into that.
I have so, so many, many files on that laptop of mine – my only concern at this point is being able to recover all those files.
So, if you have not backup’ed up all your stuff – save a few points on your blood pressure and back it all up today!
