I’m sure most people will identify with the statement “I always land on my feet.” It’s true, even when big challenges happen you find that you always seem to come out of it okay, even though you may have been through a very difficult time.
Over the last few weeks I’ve been presenting a 5-week program called ‘Change Your Energy, Change Your Income.’ It’s not about how to make more money so much as it is about what happens when you change your energy around money – you allow it to come to you. Each week participants have been having ‘aha moments’ and realizing significant things that have been holding them back from achieving what they want.
This week, I knew the program had really hit home when Suzanne, one of the participants, had a major realization. She said “I’ve always landed on my feet and I don’t want to JUST land on my feet any more… I want to fly! I WANT TO SOAR!” Now that’s an aha moment!
I’m sure you’ve all heard the saying “when you keep doing the same things you get the same results.” And it’s so true. But the hard part is that our conditioning and the negative beliefs that we’ve been programmed with can make it very difficult to change what we’re doing – we simply don’t know how to do it. You have to get to the point where the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change. Nobody is saying that changing isn’t difficult. It definitely can be because you have to release old programming (you have to identify what it is first) and then do things differently, which is outside your comfort zone.
The key to change is being willing to accept the discomfort. In fact, I recommend that you accept it gladly because the more uncomfortable you feel, the more you’re ready to change. Instead of trying to let go of the uncomfortable feeling(s), whether it’s fear, anxiety, frustration, anger, or anything else, the trick is to embrace the feeling. Let it be there and be willing to see what’s behind it – that will tell you what the belief is that has been holding you back.
I know that because Suzanne has reached the point where she is no longer willing to JUST land on her feet, but she wants to SOAR, that she is going to be successful. She’s not going to let anything hold her back any more – just having that mind shift is huge. Now that’s changing your energy!
So it all comes down to this – what are you settling for in your life? You may be aware of the fact that you do always land on your feet and everything does turn out okay – and that’s great. That may be enough for you. Just know that there is more if you want it. Yes, you have to do the inner work to get there, but when the pain of staying the same becomes so great, like Suzanne, you will be willing to do whatever it takes to change your reality.
And notice that the change has come not because Suzanne tried to change her situation. She’s changing herself. That’s the biggest mistake people make when they want change in their lives, they focus only on trying to change the situation – and that’s not what creates true, long-lasting, peaceful change. There’s only one way to accomplish that and that’s to change your own energy.
So, are you happy to keep landing on your feet? or do you want to join Suzanne and SOAR? I’m definitely with you Suzanne.
